Today I tried an Allagash Dubbel Reserve from Portland, Maine.
Service type: 750ml bottle.
Style: Belgian Style Dubbel, 7.0% ABV.
Appearance: Ruby red in color with a lot of light creamy white foam and good lacing. A little hazy.
Aroma: Grassy hops, orange peel, dark fruits, caramel.
Taste: well balanced caramel malts, elegant complexity, chocolate and nuts.
Mouthfeel: meidum-heavy body with very low carbonation and a dry finish.
Overall: my fifth beer this year, and very much holding up to the expectations built with yesterday's Piraat.
