Today I felt like something strong and subtle I asked around and came upon this one brewed by Brouwerij Van Steenberge in Evergem, Belgium.
Service type: 11.2 fl. oz. bottle.
Style: Trippel Belgian Pale Ale, 10.50% ABV.
Appearance: golden copper in color with a very thick white head that fully receded within the first drinks without any lacing.
Aroma: very rich and citrusy, hops in the background; very clean, deep floral notes.
Taste: wonderful balanced taste keeping true to the aroma, with some sweet fruit notes as well.
Mouthfeel: very smooth carbonation; medium bodied-beer.
Overall: excelent beer, along with Delirium Tremens I have to say one of my favorite Belgian beers. No wonder it won gold medal for best amber beer in the California Microbrew Beer Festival in 1995. I'm sure it's as good now as it was then. I'm scared now, I doubt (but can only hope) tomorrow 's beer is as good as this one.
