The day came. I had the Allagash Dubbel and Tripel during the week and had scheduled the Quad for yesterday, but conditions arose and I didn't get to try the Quad until today.
Allagash, describes the beer as a beer with four malts, four sugars, four hop varieties and one which is fermented four times, using four different yeast strains.
Service type: 750ml bottle.
Style: Belgian Style Quadruple, 10.0% ABV.
Appearance: Very nice orangy pale golden color with a very white thick head.
Aroma: Lots of caramel, sugar and some hops in the end.
Taste: Very sweet at first but it balances out throughout. There are some fruit flavors in there as well as the alcohol that can be felt in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, slightly carbonated, super smooth.
Overall: The best Allagash I have tried, at least for my taste. Very smooth and elegant. You can barely taste the alcohol but you get to feel it after a while...
